Sebastian Café Is A Milan Coffee Shop Not To Be Missed
If you are exploring Via Dante in Milan and you need either a snack or a full meal, our review will tell you if Sebastian Café is the coffee shop you need.

The Sebastian Café Milano is a study in contrasts between the elegant and chic interior that harkens back to an earlier time in Milan, the fact that it is less than a year old and that it is smack dab in the middle of the well-travelled tourist routes in the city.
The bar is located at Via Dante 18, very near Castello Sforzesco and a short walk to the Duomo and can serve as a meeting point for those who wish to experience a stylish breakfast or something more from their offerings of traditional Mediterranean cuisine.

Chic Atmosphere
I mentioned that it is a stylish and chic interior that one might consider from another time or seemingly timeless. Our plan was for breakfast, so I can’t speak to the atmosphere when people are enjoying cocktails, but breakfast was a well-executed affair with a wide selection of pastries, eggs, all the necessary espresso drinks, and a favorite of ours: freshly squeezed orange juice.
Seating was available inside and in a tented area outside. Both were inviting, but as we were just about the first to arrive, we chose an inside table right next to the large open windows that gave us the illusion of dining al fresco. The restaurant was staffed well enough that I believe the service would have been at the same level of quality inside or out.
The appeal of the location can’t be overstated. Via Dante is popular with tourists and close to all the major sites, so using it as a meeting place would be convenient for anyone.

Sebastian Cafè Menu Highlights
To start off, I mentioned our love of freshly squeezed orange juice, and they offered a delicious Spremuta di arancia for only €8.00. Apart from this, it is a very typical Italian menu. Their breakfast menu offers a variety of cornetti (Croissant-style pastry) and Pain au Chocolat. It also offers heartier fare, like pancakes, eggs prepared in different ways and some yogurt.
Even though we didn’t have lunch, the lunch and dinner options are surprisingly broad as well. Pasta and rice dishes, burger and pizza seem to be the stars but augmented with salads, chicken, fish and beef dishes at “reasonable costs”. I put that in quotes because you need to consider the location as well as the city, but still the prices aren’t bad.

I wouldn’t characterize any of the menu items as unique, but more expected and predictable, which I prefer. The surprise, to me, was in the breadth of offerings. I didn’t get a sense at breakfast that this restaurant has a large kitchen, but when you consider the diversity of what they offer, it must be a considerable kitchen.
Navigating The Breakfast Visit
This is a very centrally located restaurant that you should have no trouble finding. Take a metro to the Cairoli Station. Then walk southwest towards via Dante and the restaurant will be a couple steps up on the left. The address is: Via Dante, 18.

It is definitely a tourist spot, so be mindful of when your typical tourist is looking for breaks ( or lunch) and plan accordingly. We arrived not long after it opened and when we left, the inside seating was pretty full, but the outside tables were largely available.

Why It’s Worth A Visit
All the things a tourist needs makes this definitely worth a visit. It is centrally located with a great selection of food available all day long and offered at a reasonable price. In addition, the staff was very professional, the interior design is stylish and it just has that “fancy” feeling like you are treating yourself.
