Bars in Rome, Italy are very different from what you have probably experienced in the US. An Italian bar is a good place to get a coffee, a snack, a breakfast pastry and yes even a cocktail. They aren’t a place to hangout for hours, watch the golf match and drink from wide range of beers on tap.
Having a delicious cup of coffee from Italy in the morning is an important part of my daily ritual and has been for years. We made this such a big part of our lives that we had started an eCommerce site that specialized in selling coffee from Italy. Don’t worry, this isn’t a sales pitch as we shuttered the site when we moved to Italy and this blog is all that remains.
I wrote about our history with amazing Italian coffee in an earlier post, and I hope you will take a few minutes to read that first for context. We have been passionate about Italian coffee for a long time and the reasons go beyond the taste, but they also include the Italian coffee cultural and its importance here in Italy. Since moving to Rome, it is even more obvious that coffee is an essential part of everyday life.
There is an almost unlimited number of coffee roasters in Italy and they range from small artisan roasters to huge international companies, like Illy and Lavazza, that are known world-wide for their delicious coffee.
